Get nose-to-nose with the tallest animals at the Zoo during our Giraffe Feeding experience! For just $5, you can offer a tasty treat and make unforgettable eye contact with these gentle giants.

*All animal experiences are subject to animal participation.

2pm daily | African Plains Building | $5 per person

APB entrance is located on the East side of the building, which is located across from the Severson-Ahart African Savanna lion exhibit.

Experience the Zoo like never before with a behind-the-scenes Unique Animal Encounter! Led by zoo leadership and expert keepers, these small-group experiences offer an up-close look at select animals, their care, and the conservation work RPZ supports.

Small Train. Big Zoo Fun! This family-friendly ride is big enough for kids and adults alike, making it the perfect way to cruise through the Zoo in style. Hop on and enjoy a fun, relaxing loop with plenty of wild sights along the way!

The Critter Caboose typically runs June through September:

Occasional extended hours for some special events. 

A wild ride just for kids! With a variety of animals to choose from, it’s perfect for little ones up to 80 pounds. Hold on tight and enjoy the spin!

  • ALL pets (exempt – ADA services animals)

  • Bikes, skateboards, scooters, hoverboards, Heelys, etc.

  • We are a smoke free facility
  • Follow all posted signs and remain in public areas
  • Refrain from feeding unauthorized animals
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian over 18
  • Clothing and shoes are required at all times
